The best New Zealand treesProbably the best known of New Zealand trees, the Variegated Lemonwood (Pittosporum eugenioides ‘variegatum’) is extensively cultivated in many countries. A fast growing evergreen, reaching 3-5 m or more and 2-4 m wide, this low-branching plant is covered with dense glossy foliage, pale green with cream wavy margins. Leaves emit a pleasant citron aroma when crushed. Fragrant creamy yellow flowers appear in spring, followed by yellow fruit which becomes black and sticky when ripe. Being hardy, the Variegated Lemon wood will grow in a wide range of soils and conditions in many parts of Australia, inland or coastal and is quite tolerant of heat, dry periods, wind, salt spray and moderate frosts. This plants it can be used as a decoration. So, your home design seemingly more naturally.

It is, however seen at its best if planted in an open sunny position with deep rich soil and generous watering during prolonged dry spells. Feed at least once a year with a complete fertilizer, bushy dense habit make this valuable plant a first choice for privacy or shelter, clipped or unclipped tall hedging lawn specimen or street tree. Variegated Lemonwood is prone to white wax scale and borer along coastal fringe; spray scale with White Oil in mid December again in January. The Variegated lemonwood can be set as interior accent if the height low than 1 m, you can put it in the corner of a room or beside a window it can make a comfortable and fresh air conditions. Also makes your home design is more elegant.
